Hi, we're glad you've found us!
We are Theo Green Designs, a small architectural practice based in West Dorset, specialising in the design of bespoke contemporary houses as well as conversions, extensions, re-modelling, and renovations of existing buildings.

Based on the Jurassic coast, we have been working on residential projects throughout the South of England since 2014. Having been lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on some exciting and challenging projects from day one we continue to strive for high quality design in everything that we do.

The practice has gone from strength to strength despite the challenging times we have faced. We are currently a small efficient team, allowing us to give you a very personal service. We respond to each brief with creativity to find a solution that best meets your needs, within budget.

Working with us is a collaborative and enjoyable process in which we develop and explore ideas together.

Nepheli Theophanidis
Principal Architect and Director - BSc MArch ARB, RIBA
Inspired by some talented individuals who I was lucky enough to work with at Batterham Matthews in Bath, Rio Architects in Cardiff and Western Design Architects in Dorset, I set up Theo Green Designs in 2014, motivated to offer a personal and bespoke service for individuals with the aim of designing inspiring places in which they can live, work and play.

Becoming a mum to two extremely energetic little boys has only strengthened my determination and given me new insight into the importance of giving people practical and achievable solutions.

I have always been keen to offer a personal and tailored approach for my clients. I continue to learn all the time and strive to add new skills that can help and inform my work in the future, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and environmentally responsible design.

Ethos
Inspired by our landscape setting we design buildings that are sensitive to their context and sustainable in the way they perform. We believe a building and most specifically a home, must be a unique response to the site and clients with no preconceived ideas about what the building should be. So, every building we design is different as each site, set of clients and their brief requires a completely fresh design approach.

We encourage our clients to make environmentally responsible choices where possible throughout the design process and specification stages as this is a key responsibility of all of ours under the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge aiming for net zero.

A new house or even an extension will consume a great deal of resources in its construction, but the impact can be significantly reduced by using sustainably sourced or recycled materials wherever possible and ensuring the ongoing energy requirements for the building are kept as low as possible and are met from renewable energy sources. This integrated and holistic approach to the construction of a building not only addresses the need for environmentally responsible design in practical terms but also encourages a more sustainable way of life. Using sustainable materials and construction techniques and through collaboration with a range of design consultants, specialists, and suppliers we ensure that our proposals that are well considered and meet the highest standards of energy efficiency.
