August 2024
A summer of variety, several projects on site while others get ready for a 2025 start.
This summer just exemplifies our diverse portfolio of projects. Our current sites that are being worked on as we speak in Lyme Regis, Shipton Gorge, the Coast Road and West Bay are all progressing well in the good weather.
They are a variety of shapes and sizes, and have a mix of construction types. We have an extension to an older thatched cottage, in traditional masonry construction. We have a large contemporary villa with sweeping forms built in timber timber frame and the sustainable build is beginning to take shape, with work on the hempcrete starting this week. Working closely with the guys on site we've been dealing with planning conditions, product substitutions and tricky technical details for this mixed bag of sites.
The rural bungalow site has recieved building control approval and had the asbestos removal performed, so is all clear for a September start. A replacement house in West Bay is to be demolished next month as well, while the technical design on the new house is being worked on currently by the constultant team.
Meanwhile, we've had a contemporary new build home go into planning, using solar technology and green roofs for the eco aspects, while we have recieved approvals for two extension and remodelling projects near Bridport that help make these homes just that bit better for their occupants. Work on these is planned for the spring.
