Project Management / Contract Administration

Some projects will require a feasibility study to determine whether it is viable before any in depth design work is started. Feasibility studies start with some site analysis to determine the suitability of a site for the project in question. Simple 3D models and diagrammatic drawings can then be used to present the information before doing basic layout work to test ideas.

Most building projects will require planning approval from the Local Planning Authority.

Through discussions with the client and the preparation of a brief that will record their requirements, I can develop an initial design.

Using 3D modelling to help communicate ideas with clients the design can be refined and once a design has been agreed with a client, I can provide drawings and supporting documents to submit a planning application.

Providing necessary planning approvals can be gained, the first step to getting a project on site is to do drawings that will satisfy building control and which can also be used for initial budget costings. These drawings will determine basic construction principles but depending on the complexity of the project in most cases further information will be needed before construction can begin.

Depending on the size of the project clients may or may not require an architect to oversee the construction stages. We can tailor the level of input to suit the individual project and situation.
